Nothing short of a fairytale come true<\/strong><\/em>. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the beauty of the property and the warm welcome we received from the gracious owners. Our party of 19, including adults, teenagers, and babies, found this stunning estate to be the perfect setting for a memorable and relaxing holiday. The welcome pack was gratefully received – and the chocolate milk didn’t last long \ud83d\ude42 and the communication prior to our arrival was amazing<\/p>\n

The manoir and gite were both beautifully appointed, combining rustic charm with modern amenities. The rooms were spacious, elegantly decorated, and immaculately clean, ensuring that every member of our diverse group felt comfortable and at ease. From the picturesque views of the surrounding countryside to the luxurious bedding and well-equipped kitchens, we couldn’t have asked for more comfortable and enjoyable lodging.<\/p>\n

The Manoir’s and Gites amenities were nothing short of fantastic. The swimming pool was a big hit with both the teenagers and adults, offering a refreshing escape from the summer heat. For the little ones, the owners had thoughtfully arranged a safe and fun play area with table tennis and swing set, keeping them happily entertained throughout our stay. The extensive gardens provided a picturesque backdrop for leisurely strolls and are kept to perfection, and we even had a chance to enjoy a barbecue in the outdoor dining area. This is an excellent space for group gatherings and activities. We loved spending time together in the spacious living areas, playing games, and sharing stories and dining on the terrace,\u00a0 The fully equipped kitchen in the made it easy for us to prepare meals for our large party, and the dining area was perfect for family-style dinners and celebrations.<\/p>\n

Safety is obviously top of mind with an alarm fitted in the pools \u2013 which gave us so much ease with the toddlers running around.The highlight of our experience was undoubtedly the exceptional hospitality of the owners. From the moment we booked our stay, they went above and beyond to ensure we had a fantastic holiday. They were attentive to our needs, providing helpful local recommendations and arranging extras (helping us book hair appointments and restaurant bookings) which was incredibly thoughtful. The owners’ warmth and genuine care for their guests made us feel like we were\u00a0we were visiting dear friends rather than staying at a holiday rental, and then there is the dog, a huge hit with the kids, a real playful little puppy.<\/p>\n

Castelmoron-sur-Lot itself was a delightful town to explore. We enjoyed leisurely walks along the riverbanks, visited charming local markets, and indulged in the region’s delectable cuisine. The area offered a perfect blend of tranquility and exciting activities, making it an ideal destination for guests of all ages.<\/p>\n

Our vacation at the Manoir Des Cedres was undoubtedly one of the most memorable experiences we’ve had as a large group. The exquisite property, combined with the exceptional care and attention from the owners, made it a holiday we will cherish for years to come. If you’re looking for a magical retreat with a mix of relaxation and adventure, I wholeheartedly recommend this stunning manoir and gite to everyone. \u201cBlown away!\u201d<\/strong><\/em> Having had the pleasure of a month with Liz and Martyn, we were blown away by the warmth of the welcome, the cleanliness of the entire estate, and the overwhelming views that greet you each morning. The gite has everything you could possibly want, plus a lot more and we were fortunate enough to experience the Manoir too, a sumptuous experience whether eating or sleeping over, in the plethora of stunning bedrooms. “Just perfect!” <\/em><\/strong>Finding a property for a party of 14 (students and adults) isn\u2019t easy. Manoir de Biraud Bas fitted the bill perfectly. This luxurious 17th century recently renovated property with extensive grounds ticked all the boxes. The house oozes taste and style and is immaculately clean.\u00a0It\u2019s difficult to say what we enjoyed most! Each bedroom is beautifully decorated, with a mixture of contemporary and antique furniture and comes with en-suite bathroom\/ shower room which meant that there were no arguments around who took showers when and keeping them tidy! The vast \u2018children\u2019s bedroom\u2019 with full size single\/ double beds and table soccer was met with approval from the younger generation! We also appreciated the mattresses and fine bed linen (we chose not to have duvets given the heat in August), which is rare in rental accommodation. Fred was in his element in the very spacious, fully equipped kitchen, which has everything you could possibly need. There are stacks of cutlery\/ glassware\/ crockery.The focal point of the house, it has to be said, is the terrace bathed in sunlight from morning to evening, with its comfy lounge furniture and swimming pool area. Sipping wine watching the sun set over the rolling fields of plum orchards was a must for everyone; likewise was being able to dine outside 100% of the time even when it rained! The pool is sufficiently long to do lengths. What\u2019s more, the temperature is maintained at a steady 28\u00b0C thanks to a heating\/ cooling system, so we didn\u2019t get that initial temperature shock even with early morning swims! Liz and Martyn did everything to make our stay pleasurable. They were very attentive to our needs, kept the garden immaculate and extremely helpful in providing information on what to see and do in the area while remaining discrete. Liz\u2019s homemade carrot cake and local cheese platter in the welcome package went down a treat!\u00a0We would definitely recommend Liz and Martyn\u2019s beautiful Manor house to others wishing to visit the region or, for that matter, for family get-togethers\/ celebrations.\u00a0A huge \u201cThank you\u201d to you both for making this a great holiday!\u00a0Sarah, Paris, France, August 2020<\/strong><\/p>\n

“Tout simplement parfait !”\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>Trouver une propri\u00e9t\u00e9 pour un groupe de 14 personnes (\u00e9tudiants, adultes et enfants en bas \u00e2ge) n’est pas facile. Le Manoir de Biraud Bas a \u00e9t\u00e9 au del\u00e0 de nos esp\u00e9rances. Cette luxueuse propri\u00e9t\u00e9 du XVIIe si\u00e8cle r\u00e9cemment r\u00e9nov\u00e9e et dot\u00e9e d’un vaste terrain a coch\u00e9 toutes les cases. La maison respire le bon go\u00fbt avec beaucoup de style et est d’une propret\u00e9 irr\u00e9prochable. Il est difficile de dire ce que nous avons le plus appr\u00e9ci\u00e9 ! Chaque chambre est magnifiquement d\u00e9cor\u00e9e, avec un m\u00e9lange de meubles contemporains et anciens, et est dot\u00e9e d’une salle de bain\/douche attenante, \u00e9vitant toute dispute pour savoir qui prenait les douches et qui les gardait propres ! La vaste “chambre d’enfants” avec des lits simples et doubles et un baby-foot a re\u00e7u l’approbation de la jeune g\u00e9n\u00e9ration ! Nous avons \u00e9galement appr\u00e9ci\u00e9 la grande qualit\u00e9 de la literie (matelas hyper confortables et linge de lit tr\u00e8s agr\u00e9able), ce qui est assez rare dans les logements de location. Fred, dont le plus grand plaisir (et le n\u00f4tre d\u2019ailleurs) est de nous pr\u00e9parer de bons petits plats pendant les vacances, \u00e9tait aux anges dans la cuisine tr\u00e8s spacieuse et enti\u00e8rement \u00e9quip\u00e9e, qui a tout ce dont vous pourriez avoir besoin. De plus, la vaisselle ne manque pas. Mais le point central de la maison, est bien la terrasse, baign\u00e9e de soleil du matin au soir, avec ses meubles de salon confortables et son espace piscine. Siroter un verre de vin en regardant le soleil se coucher sur les champs vallonn\u00e9s des vergers de pruniers \u00e9tait un must pour tout le monde ; de m\u00eame, pouvoir d\u00eener dehors 100% du temps m\u00eame si une giboul\u00e9e vient rafraichir l\u2019atmosph\u00e8re, est tr\u00e8s appr\u00e9ciable ! \u00a0La piscine est suffisamment longue pour faire des longueurs, et donc parfaite pour jouer ou nager selon son gr\u00e9. De plus, la temp\u00e9rature est maintenue \u00e0 28\u00b0C gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 un syst\u00e8me de chauffage\/refroidissement, ce qui rend tr\u00e8s agr\u00e9able la baignade \u00e0 toute heure du matin comme du soir. Liz et Martyn ont tout fait pour rendre notre s\u00e9jour agr\u00e9able. Ils ont \u00e9t\u00e9 tr\u00e8s attentifs \u00e0 nos besoins, ont gard\u00e9 le jardin immacul\u00e9 et ont \u00e9t\u00e9 extr\u00eamement utiles en nous donnant des informations sur ce qu’il y avait \u00e0 voir et \u00e0 faire dans la r\u00e9gion tout en restant discrets. Le g\u00e2teau aux carottes fait maison de Liz et le plateau de fromage local dans le paquet de bienvenue ont \u00e9t\u00e9 un r\u00e9gal! Nous recommandons vivement le magnifique manoir de Liz et Martyn \u00e0 tous ceux qui souhaitent visiter la r\u00e9gion ou, d’ailleurs, pour des r\u00e9unions ou des c\u00e9l\u00e9brations familiales. Nous avons beaucoup utilis\u00e9 la piscine et avons profit\u00e9 de la propri\u00e9t\u00e9 en faisant de longues promenades en mangeant de nombreux fruits dans une zone priv\u00e9e et magnifique, nous avons \u00e9galement vu la faune. Les h\u00f4tes Martin et Liz sont des gens tr\u00e8s chaleureux, accueillants et g\u00e9n\u00e9reux. Nous sommes arriv\u00e9s tard un lundi soir et Liz avait pr\u00e9par\u00e9 un g\u00e2teau et avait rempli le frigo avec une planche de charcuterie et du vin ! Ce sont des gens tr\u00e8s serviables, agr\u00e9ables et extr\u00eamement discrets. Ils nous ont donn\u00e9 d'excellentes suggestions sur les choses \u00e0 visiter, ainsi qu\u2019un restaurant local sur la rivi\u00e8re. \u00ab Je suis d\u00e9j\u00e0 impatient de notre propre s\u00e9jour \u00bb <\/strong><\/em>On vient de passer deux semaines au G\u00eete Biraud Bas et mon bref commentaire est que nous avons tellement appr\u00e9ci\u00e9 notre s\u00e9jour que nous avons d\u00e9j\u00e0 r\u00e9serv\u00e9 pour l\u2019ann\u00e9e prochaine ! Un commentaire plus long et informatif serait que le g\u00eete est extr\u00eamement confortable, tr\u00e8s bien \u00e9quip\u00e9 et ressemble aux photos. C\u2019est un endroit paisible avec une vue imprenable depuis la terrasse \u2013 nous avons vu des chevreuils, un li\u00e8vre, des buses et mes favoris personnels, des aigles. Je pensais avoir rep\u00e9r\u00e9 un sanglier t\u00f4t un matin, mais je ne peux pas en \u00eatre s\u00fbr. La propri\u00e9t\u00e9 est tr\u00e8s proche d\u2019un joli village avec quelques caf\u00e9s et des magasins pour les provisions. Il y a aussi une s\u00e9lection de grands supermarch\u00e9s \u00e0 proximit\u00e9 en voiture. Nous avons essay\u00e9 quelques restaurants de la r\u00e9gion ainsi que certains march\u00e9s alimentaires du soir dans d\u2019autres villages. Liz et Martyn sont des h\u00f4tes tr\u00e8s g\u00e9n\u00e9reux et attentionn\u00e9s, rien ne leur pose trop de probl\u00e8me \u2013 leur pack d\u2019informations \u00e9tait facilement le meilleur que nous avons lu en vacances.
\nNous avons eu l\u2019opportunit\u00e9 de faire une visite du Manoir lors de la journ\u00e9e de transition. La propri\u00e9t\u00e9 est immense et tr\u00e8s bien am\u00e9nag\u00e9e \u2013 il y avait deux groupes familiaux multig\u00e9n\u00e9rationnels en r\u00e9sidence pour les deux semaines o\u00f9 nous y \u00e9tions et je peux certainement voir l\u2019attraction pour les grands groupes de louer \u00e0 la fois le Manoir et le G\u00eete pour les grands rassemblements.

\u201cJe recommende vraiment cet endroit pour vos vacances ou pour vos c\u00e9l\u00e9brations\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>Nous avons pass\u00e9 de fantastiques vacances en famille au Manoir de Biraud Bas. Le Manoir est excellent, il est confortable, spacieux, plein de caract\u00e8re et de charme. C\u2019\u00e9tait impeccablement propre et bien \u00e9quip\u00e9. La piscine et les terrasses sont magnifiques avec de belles vues. Les propri\u00e9taires Liz et Martyn \u00e9taient serviables et sympathiques sans \u00eatre envahissants. Ils nous ont aid\u00e9s pour les r\u00e9servations de restaurants et de taxis, nous avons pass\u00e9 une excellente soir\u00e9e avec eux dans l'un des march\u00e9s de nuit. Le Manoir est bien plac\u00e9 pour visiter de nombreuses belles bastides de la r\u00e9gion. On peut marcher facilement jusqu\u2019\u00e0 la ville locale. De la rivi\u00e8re du Lot vous pouvez faire du cano\u00eb et du paddle board, il y a \u00e9galement un petit caf\u00e9 au bord de la plage. \u00ab Cinq \u00e9toiles dans tous les domaines, un endroit magnifique ! \u00bb\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>Nous sommes rest\u00e9s au Manoir et dans le g\u00eete pendant une semaine en Juin 2019 en groupe de 16 adultes, un enfant de 3 ans et un chien pour f\u00eater mes 60 ans. L'attention aux d\u00e9tails et le standard d'h\u00e9bergement dans les deux propri\u00e9t\u00e9s \u00e9tait incroyable. Fabuleux packs de bienvenue, les cuisines enti\u00e8rement \u00e9quip\u00e9es, de magnifiques salles de bains priv\u00e9s (dans le Manoir) et le lit le plus confortable dans lequel j'ai dormi. Nous avons utilis\u00e9 le Manoir comme notre propri\u00e9t\u00e9 commun. On avait assez de place pour tout le groupe. L'emplacement est magnifique, \u00e0 quelques pas des vergers jusqu'au village local pour des croissants, un d\u00e9jeuner au Solar Caf\u00e9, des sports nautiques et des festivals de musique locale sur la place. Il y a tellement de choses \u00e0 faire dans la r\u00e9gion, des excursions d'une journ\u00e9e aux belles villes d'Agen, des apr\u00e8s-midis \u00e0 La Ferme du Chaudron Magique (jouer avec les ch\u00e8vres), et visiter Latour-Marliac (des n\u00e9nuphars incroyablement beaux et un endroit merveilleux pour d\u00e9jeuner). Une mention tr\u00e8s sp\u00e9ciale doit \u00eatre faite des h\u00f4tes charmants, Martyn et Liz (et leur magnifique chien, Burtie). Ils ont organis\u00e9 mon 60e anniversaire, fournissant un repas \u00e0 4 plats et des boissons. Ils ont achet\u00e9 le g\u00e2teau d'anniversaire (une tour de 60 profiteroles) et ont organis\u00e9 l\u2019arriv\u00e9 d\u2019un fabuleux groupe, Caber Country, qui nous ont fait danser sur les pelouses jusqu'\u00e0 minuit. Rien ne leur a pos\u00e9 trop de probl\u00e8mes et ils ont vraiment cr\u00e9\u00e9 une semaine tr\u00e8s sp\u00e9ciale. \u00ab Beau, paisible, \u00e9l\u00e9gant et relaxant \u00bb.\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>Le Manoir de Biraud Bas est une belle propri\u00e9t\u00e9, avec beaucoup de charme. La maison a tout le caract\u00e8re et la taille d'un ancien manoir avec tout le confort et le luxe d'une propri\u00e9t\u00e9 moderne. Il est situ\u00e9 au milieu de collines et de vergers vallonn\u00e9s, o\u00f9 vous pouvez marcher librement. Il y a une piscine \u00e9clair\u00e9e qui est bien entretenue et merveilleusement rafra\u00eechissante pour y plonger par une chaude journ\u00e9e. Les chambres ont beaucoup de caract\u00e8re, en particulier la chambre principale qui date de 1666 mais a \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9nov\u00e9e avec tout le luxe d\u2019une chambre moderne. La cuisine et le salon sont \u00e9normes et \u00e9galement bien \u00e9quip\u00e9s (nous \u00e9tions un groupe de 13 et nous n'avons jamais manqu\u00e9 de couverts !) Les propri\u00e9taires, Liz et Martyn, \u00e9taient incroyablement organis\u00e9s en amont de notre voyage, tr\u00e8s rapides \u00e0 r\u00e9pondre, et nous ont donn\u00e9 un accueil chaleureux \u00e0 l'arriv\u00e9e. Ils nous ont donn\u00e9 des conseils sur les boulangeries locales de la r\u00e9gion, les endroits o\u00f9 on pouvait se promener, ainsi que les meilleurs vins de la r\u00e9gion. Ils nous ont donn\u00e9 l'impression que c'\u00e9tait notre maison pour notre (trop) court s\u00e9jour l\u00e0-bas et en ont vraiment fait un tr\u00e8s bel endroit o\u00f9 s\u00e9journer. L\u2019emplacement est vraiment sp\u00e9cial, paisible, avec de superbes vues et proche des commodit\u00e9s du village et des activit\u00e9s de la rivi\u00e8re ! Liz & Martyn sont des h\u00f4tes tr\u00e8s g\u00e9n\u00e9reux \u2013 du pack de bienvenue, aux ustensiles de cuisine de qualit\u00e9, les bons vins fran\u00e7ais et au linge de luxe. Ils ne pourraient pas \u00eatre plus utiles mais restent cependant tr\u00e8s discrets. Le Cottage est charmant, le cadre magnifique et les h\u00f4tes sont des gens si gentils. Je ne peux pas plus recommander cet endroit \u00e0 quiconque r\u00e9serve pour des vacances dans la campagne fran\u00e7aise. Oubliez la Dordogne et venez dans le Lot et Garonne ! C\u2019est le nouvel endroit \u00e0 \u00eatre ! Encore 1000 fois mercis !
\nLiz & Martyn are very generous hosts, from the welcome pack, quality kitchen items, nice French wines and top-end bed linen. They could not be more helpful but also very discrete. The Cottage is charming, the surroundings beautiful and the hosts are such nice people. I can’t recommend enough to anyone booking for a holiday in French Countryside. La propri\u00e9t\u00e9 est tr\u00e8s bien \u00e9quip\u00e9e et extr\u00eamement spacieuse, mais c\u2019est les touches suppl\u00e9mentaires comme par exemple le pack de bienvenue rempli de produits locaux, et un dossier rempli d'informations et de recommandations locales qui nous ont fait comprendre qu'ils \u00e9taient pr\u00eats \u00e0 tout faire pour nous aider \u00e0 profiter de nos vacances. Il y a une superbe promenade \u00e0 faire \u00e0 travers des vergers de pruniers et de kiwis qui m\u00e8ne au village local qui a 2 excellentes boulangeries (nous avons achet\u00e9 un croissant chacun chaque matin !). Il y a un magasin au village bien approvisionn\u00e9 et quelques banques avec des distributeurs automatiques de billets. Il y a un caf\u00e9 fran\u00e7ais tr\u00e8s traditionnel avec de la nourriture d\u00e9licieuse pour le d\u00e9jeuner, cependant les sorties pour les repas du soir n\u00e9cessitaient une voiture. Avec un joli jardin, une terrasse de barbecue isol\u00e9e, une piscine \u00e9tincelante et une vue magnifique sur la vall\u00e9e avec ses vergers et ses champs de tournesols, nous n'avons pas ressenti le besoin de nous aventurer trop souvent, mais nous avons appr\u00e9ci\u00e9 quelques excursions de journ\u00e9e vers les ch\u00e2teaux, les villages bastides et d'autres sections de la rivi\u00e8re du Lot. The converted barn at Biraud Bas is very spacious and private with a lovely outside pool and a great view onto the plum trees and the surrounding landscape.<\/p>\n

The room we stayed in had a very comfortable bed with nice quality linen. The kitchen is well equipped and has an extra fridge stocked with drinks for the guests. The welcome basket and the few essentials to start with (milk, water, butter, marmalade..) were also a very nice touch.<\/p>\n

The new owners Liz and Martin are marvellous hosts who made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. We enjoyed their table \u2018H\u00f4tes in a most relaxing atmosphere and were amazed at the generous size of the plates and the drinks. Just perfect!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Finding a property for a party of 14 (students and adults) isn\u2019t easy. Manoir de Biraud Bas fitted the bill perfectly. This luxurious 17th century recently renovated property with extensive grounds ticked all the boxes. The house oozes taste and style and is immaculately clean.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s difficult to say what we enjoyed most! Each bedroom is beautifully decorated, with a mixture of contemporary and antique furniture and comes with en-suite bathroom\/ shower room which meant that there were no arguments around who took showers when and keeping them tidy! The vast \u2018children\u2019s bedroom\u2019 with full size single\/ double beds and table soccer was met with approval from the younger generation! We also appreciated the mattresses and fine bed linen (we chose not to have duvets given the heat in August), which is rare in rental accommodation.<\/p>\n

Fred was in his element in the very spacious, fully equipped kitchen, which has everything you could possibly need. There are stacks of cutlery\/ glassware\/ crockery.<\/p>\n

The focal point of the house, it has to be said, is the terrace bathed in sunlight from morning to evening, with its comfy lounge furniture and swimming pool area. Sipping wine watching the sun set over the rolling fields of plum orchards was a must for everyone; likewise was being able to dine outside 100% of the time even when it rained! The pool is sufficiently long to do lengths. What\u2019s more, the temperature is maintained at a steady 28\u00b0C thanks to a heating\/ cooling system, so we didn\u2019t get that initial temperature shock even with early morning swims!<\/p>\n

Liz and Martyn did everything to make our stay pleasurable. They were very attentive to our needs, kept the garden immaculate and extremely helpful in providing information on what to see and do in the area while remaining discrete. Liz\u2019s homemade carrot cake and local cheese platter in the welcome package went down a treat!<\/p>\n

We would definitely recommend Liz and Martyn\u2019s beautiful Manor house to others wishing to visit the region or, for that matter, for family get-togethers\/ celebrations.<\/p>\n

After a long journey the parcel of goodies, including a delicious carrot cake, was more than welcome & after a good night sleep we were able to enjoy the splendid setting. The Cottage has everything that you need for a comfortable break and there are plenty of activities nearby to keep everyone occupied. We were lucky with the weather & when the temperature dropped a bit at night Martyn provided us with some logs for the wood burner. A great way to spend an evening with a glass of wine or two! \u201cA Special Family Celebration\u201d <\/em><\/strong>Our family, ranging from 7-75 years, enjoyed a special family celebration at Manoir de Biraud Bas. The owners welcomed us warmly and responded quickly to any queries during our stay but otherwise were quietly discreet. The interiors of the house and cottage are of high quality, clean, tasteful and extremely well equipped. The exterior and gardens are set up for dining, relaxing and playing amidst the most glorious views of orchards and wildlife on and over the gentle hills. We took advantage of a delicious catered meal midweek, provided by the owners, which resulted in a memorable evening. My parents stayed in the Pigeonier and enjoyed being able to take themselves away for some peace and quiet in the evenings. Although we did go our for day trips we could have simply spent all day at the manoir enjoying the pool, hot tub and the table tennis. The hosts were helpful and friendly. They live on the grounds but were mindful of our privacy and never intrusive. Our whole family had a wonderful time and spoke highly of the week away. “We have just returned from a wonderful family holiday” <\/strong><\/em>at Manoir de Biraud Bas and enjoyed Liz and Martyn’s beautifully appointed House and Gite and their generous and warm hospitality.
